·         Responsible for a territory of five states and active database of 500+ customers.

·         In 2006 secured the business of the first plus $1 million yearly revenue producing customer in the history of the Philadelphia office.

·         Significantly contributed to increase in gross office revenue by 56% in year end 2007, and 20% in year end 2008, despite an unprecedented decline in the global economy.

·         Generated on average, thirty sales leads per month for follow-up by foreign offices.

 

Operations

·         Interfaced daily with key customers to ensure their international shipments were picked-up and delivered to the designated location.

After leaving McGraw-Hill and working in NYC for 11 years, channeled my efforts toward a new endeavor in the music industry.  As a result of significant involvement through volunteer activities, was hired as customer service liaison at this start-up music venue in Philadelphia.

Manager Distribution Operations, Publication Group                                                1996 - 2003

Responsible for all North American operations regarding the distribution of McGraw Hill’s flagship publication, Business Week magazine.  Responsibilities have also included worldwide operations regarding the distribution of publications in the Aviation and Construction Information Divisions.  This included two weekly and four monthly publications.

 

·         Managed a yearly distribution budget of $3 million.

·         Led project teams in devising methods to reduce costs below budget levels.

·         Negotiated rate and service programs with a variety of domestic transportation companies, from courier to full truckload carriers.

·         Coordinated and managed the weekly and monthly distribution of 1.5 million copies of seven different publications that were produced at six regional US print sites.

·         Developed and oversaw hourly production and dispatch schedules for use at six regional US print sites.

·         Arranged delivery, 80% same day, to over 150 US Postal and newsstand distributor locations.

·         Traveled to regional US print manufacturing sites to oversee special projects and distributions on a regular basis.

·         Responsible for movement and accountability of customer produced advertising material into print sites for insertion into magazines.

·         Managed the global export from two distribution centers for all print and book products.

·         Coordinated and managed the import of book product from foreign locations. Acted as the liaison between McGraw-Hill and customs brokers to ensure compliance with import regulations.

·         Managed the movement of “hot” titles directly from print sites to distribution centers and retail locations to ensure consumer availability and sales quotas were met.

·         Negotiated rate and service programs with a wide variety of domestic and international carriers including courier, LTL, FTL, intermodal, air, NVOCCs, and steamship lines.

·         Maintained carrier rate database.

·         Prepared and coordinated yearly carrier RFP.  Evaluated and graded RFP for final recommendation to upper management.

·         Developed carrier evaluation tool to measure service, claim incidence and loss.
